Book Awards Going
to Six From JWB

NEW YORK — The Na-
tional Jewish Book Awards,
the highest recognition in
American Jewish literature,
will be presented by the Jew-
ish Book Council of the Na-
tional Jewish Welfare Board
(JWB) at a special ceremony
2 p.m. May 5 at the Park
Avenue Synagogue here.
Dr. Eugene B. Borowitz,
theologian, author and editor
of the journal Sh'ma, is pres-
ident of JWB's Jewish Book
Council and will be chairman
of the program.
The Book Awards will be
given this year in the fields
of Jewish philosophy, fiction,
history, Hebrew poetry, Jew-
ish juvenile literature and
Israeli non-fiction.
