ANN ARBOR — As part of
the professional team gather-
ed from the best of New
York theater, award-winner
Stanley Silverman has writ-
ten the music for the Uni-
versity of Michigan Players'
April production of Arthur
Miller's new musical, "From
the Creation."
In addition to working with
the Pulitzer Prize . winning
playwright, Silverman has
garnered some prizes of his
own. He was the recipient of
a \ 1970 OBIE Award and in
1973 he received the Drama
Desk Award for . ..music cre-
ated for the Off-Broadway
hit that woke up New York
with its zaniness and musi-
cal fun, "Dr. Selavey's
Magic Theatre*."
Silverman's other accom-
plishments include work with
the Berkshire Music Center,
musical consultant at the
Stratford National Theater
of Canada and musical direc-
tor of the Repertory Com-
pany of Lincoln Center from
1965-1973. He has received
commissions from the
Fromm Foundation and the
National Opera Institute and
grants from the Martha
Baird Rockefeller Fund, the
New York State Council on
the Arts and the Ford Foun-
dation.
