the annual distribution of
Christmas trees to foreign
journalists, diplomats and

to include the crews of the
boats.
Some 1,100 Christmas trees
from the Jerusalem Forest,
cut annually in a planned
thinning operation, were dis-
tributed free of charge. The
trees were mostly cypresses
which serve instead of the
traditional firs of the north-
ern countries.
