mittee, the Canadian Jewish

tions, and the International
Institute of Human Rights.
More than 70 judges, law-
yers, academicians, political
scientists, and human rights
specialists from the United
States, Canada, the United

and Israel are expected to
attend. -
Among the scholars who

SOFIA (JTA)—Jack Natan
Primo, the internationally
known Jewish historian and
economist, died here March
21 at age .72.
A political activist, he was
several times imprisoned and

for his fight against Naziism.
Mr. Primo founded and for
a long time headed the de-
partment of political econ-
omy at the Karl Marx Insti-

A. Raymond Katz, internationally known muralist and
painter of religious art, shown here with a mural he exe-
cuted for Camp Bnai Brith in Starlight, Pa., died Sunday
in Miami Beach. He was '78. A. resident of New York, Mr.
Katz did many of his murals, stained glass and mosaics for
synagogues but probably was best known for his works
woven around the characters of the Hebrew alphabet. His
works, also including drawings and acrylics, were exhibited
in museums and galleries here and abroad. He published a
number of art books, including "Jewish Holidays and Festi-
vals," reflecting his interest in interpreting Jewish traditions.
The mural shown above used many materials, such ag ,
plastics, metals, wood and stone, and was based on a
theme from the 18th Psalm.
