Julius Chajes Compositions to Be
Highlighted at Center Festival

A Jewish Music Festival
featuring the compositions of
conductor Julius Chajes will
highlight the season's fourth
concert by the Center Sym-
phony Orchestra 3:30 p.m.
March 24 in the J e w i s 11
Center.
This special concert in cele-
bration of Jewish Music
Month will present the John
Dovaras Singers, cellist Paul
Olefsky, Cantor Harold Or-
bach and singers Sidney Res-
nick and Annette Chajes.
Olefsky, who has performed
and conducted in most major
music centers around the
world, will solo in Chajes'
Cello Concerto.
Cantor Orbach, national
president of the American
Conference of Cantors, has
recorded a number of albums.
Resnick, a native Detroiter,
has been an operatic singer.
In three years, the John
Dovaras Singers has become
one of Detroit's best known
chamber ensembles. M r s .
Chajes has performed as
soloist in concerts and re-
citals in major American and
Canadian cities.
