Detroit to Host Region of Welfare Federation Women

will spend most of the day
evaluating campaign pro-
cedures used in the drive
which followed the Yom
Kippur War.
There also will be working
sessions to discuss educa-
tional programs in the com-
munities represented. These
local programs, designed to
keep women informed about
Jewish matters, are insti-
tutes, seminars, study groups
and leadership classes.
Included in the meeting's
agenda, according to Mrs.
Brandwine, will be a discus-
sion of how to best utilize
the time set aside for
women's division meetings
at the CJFWF's annual gen-
eral assembly.
This is the first time De-
troit has hosted the Midwest
regional meeting, said Mrs.

Leaders from 12 communi-
ties in the West, Midwest and
Canada, will be the guests of
the women's division of De-
troit's Jewish Welfare Fed-
eration when they attend an
annual subcommittee meet-
ing on communal conference
Wednesday at the Butzel
Building.

Omega Dental Fraternity is
planning its annual fund-
raising event as a buffet sup-
per party "Fly AO" at Pine
Knob Lodge March 30.
Mrs. Joseph Dobrusin,
chairman, and her committee
have planned a fashion show,
arranged by Mesdames Don-
ald Stillman a n d Charles
Goodman, featuring members
and their husbands.
Mrs. Sheldon Mintz and
Mrs. Alan Warnick have been
making table centerpieces—
airplanes made by members'
children — for the Create-a-
Plane Contest.
A special song to be per-
formed by an Alpha Omega
chorus has been written by
Mrs. Arnold Zuroff. Dancing
will be to the music of the
Silver Band.

group is to provide local den-
tal aid which Alpha Omega
finances for 'ndigent Jewish
patients at Shiffman Clinic of
Sinai Hospital.
The group also contributes
to the Alpha Omega Founda-
tion Fund, which provides
dental care all over the
world.
Another, project is provid-
ing entertainment, clothing,
toys, games and field trips
for children at the D. J. Healy
Home in Detroit. The group
contributed to the Fred Gar-
ber Student Loan Fund,
which aids dental school
students.

This week's recipe is from
a new "Family Cookbook"
produced by the children's
division of the Jewish Center
of Cleveland in honor of the
25th anniversary of the Cle-
veland Center. The recipes
have all been tested in chil-
dren's cooking classes and
are understandably not com-
plex. Persons interested in
receiving a copy of the 102-
page book should write to
the Cleveland Jewish Com-

field, Cleveland 44118. Cost
is $2.50

2 cups matzo farfel — water to
cover
2 eggs
cup sugar
1 ., tsp. salt
3 tbsp. fat
2 cups grated apple
1/4 cup chopped nuts
Cover farfel with hot water,
then drain. Add beaten eggs,
sugar, salt, fat, apples and nuts.
Mix thoroughly. Bake in greased
dish for 30 minutes at 350 de-
grees.
