Daniel Barenboim, Israeli-
born pianist and conductor,
has been named chief con-
ductor of France's leading
symphony orchestra, the Or-
chestre de Paris. The 31-
yeaf-old Barenboim, who
makes his headquarters in
London, will succeed Sir
Georg Solti in September
1975. He is married to cellist
Jacqueline du Pre.

Troy Hilton Names
Director of Catering

The Troy Hilton Inn has
appointed Rudy Caduff as its
new director of catering.
Formerly the banquet man-
ager, Caduff has had more
than 10 years in the food
business.
The Swiss-born Caduff be-
came associated with hotel
and restaurant business at
an early age, having lived in
a town dependent on the
tourist trade.
He later worked at a resort
hotel in Lake Placid, N.Y.,
spent_ winters working in
Florida and finally became
manager of a Swiss restaur-
ant in Montreal. He moved
to Troy in 1970 and was hired
by the Hilton Hotels Corp.

ed a group trip to enable

Berlin's orphans. The women
