PEOPLE WHO HAVE SOMETHING IN COMMON

These men and women are officers of the 1974
Allied Jewish Campaign-Israel Emergency Fund
here in Detroit. As the Campaign's end approaches,
they and hundreds of other AJC-IEF workers will
make every possible effort to ask each Jew in
this community for a pledge which will help
Jews throughout the world.
The 1974 Campaign began early. The Yom

Kippur War meant that somehow Israel's friends
would need to- provide much more help than ever
before for her humanitarian programs.
Even during the war blackouts, immigrants
continued to arrive at Lod Airport. Their absorption
needs, housing and medical care must be provided.
Here at home, people are more aware that a
vital local community, which has adequate serv-
ices to enrich the quality of Jewish life, is necessary
to maintain the unity of the Jewish people. •
The work accomplished by national and local
community relations agencies is vital to a climate

of security and harmony for Jews and for all people.
There are only 18 days left until the closing
dinner of the 1974 Campaign.
'During those days, the people pictured, and.
the workers in the Campaign Divisions, will be
busy bringing the 1974 AJC-IEF to a successful
conclusion. Their hope is to be able to announce
on March 18 a Campaign success great enough
to ensure that every Jew in Detroit, and through-
out the world, can look to tomorrow and next year
with confidence and security.
