Fathers will be able to hold
and feed their new babies
while still in the hospital
when a "Fathers' Hour" is
initiated 7-9:30 p.m. Tuesday
by Sinai Hospital.
For new parents who
aren't sure of what to do, or
for those who need a re-
fresher course, classes given
by hospital nursing person-
nel will teach the basics of
infant care.
Sinai is changing its eve-
ning visiting hours on the
unit to enable fathers to
spend an unhurried time
with their ,wives and babies,
undisturbed by other visi-
tors. Father's Hour is ex-
clusively for fathers, but
other relatives may visit
during the regular hours
from 2 to 4 p.m:
Parents whose babies re-
main in the nursery for
medical reasons after the
mother's discharge from the
hospital are the only excep-
tions to the "fathers only"
rule during evening visiting
hours.
Babies who remain in the
nursery at the doctors' or-
ders or mothers who are
under isolation precautions
cannot participate in the pro-
gram..
To take part in Fathers'
Hour, the parent obtains a
visiting card at the hospital's
information desk in the Outer
Dr. lobby as usual. After
identifying himself on the
unit, he may either visit his
