Council will sponsor an invi-
tational basketball tourna-
ment in Detroit April 19-21 to
help kick off the AZA soul
a n n i v e r sary celebration,
through April 28. AZA chap-
ter teams from Washington,
Milwaukee and Minneapolis
will travel to Detroit to par-
ticipate in the eight-team in-
vitational tournament, along
with the two top teams from
Michigan Region, and Herzl.

The Great Lakes BBG
Council will conclude its vol-
leyball tournament at the
Jewish Center Sunday. Thir-
teen BBG chapters are par-
ticipating, and after the first
week of competition Chavay-
ros BBG and Masada BBG
remain undefeated. Competi-
tion will begin at 1 p.m. and
will conclude with the cham-
pionship game at 4. All are
invited .

Emma Lazarus BBG and
Philip Wasserman AZA of
Grand Rapids are sponsoring
a Beau-Sweetheart weekend
March 8-10. The weekend
will include many activities,
with the dance to be held
March 9. The BBYO Council

The first in a series of
teen seminars dealing with
the special needs of the Jew-
ish handicaped and retarded
is scheduled for 8 p.m. Wed-
nesday at the 10 Mile Jewish
Center.
The. series, "Expand Your
Awareness of the Handi-
caped," is to help teens un„
derstand the role of the re-
tarded in the community,
take a look at career oppor-
tunities and help provide
volunteer placement.
Discussion topics will cen
ter around the unmet needs
of the handicaped, separa-
tion of fact and fiction con-
cerning the handicaped and
learning skills like teaching
slow learners to swim and
autistic children to speak.

the handicaped and retarded

Applications for admission
to the Mollie Goodman Aca-
demic High School in Israel
for the 1974-75 term are be-
ing accepted by the Zionist
Organization of America De-
troit District at ZOD head-
quarters, 18501 W. 10 Mile,
Southfield.
Established and maintained
by the Zionist Organization
of America, the school ac-
cepts students for the 10th,
11th and 12th grades, follows
the accepted American aca-
demic high school curricu-
lum and enables seniors to
take their college entrance
examinations in Israel. The
school's diploma is honored
by all major American col-
leges and universities.
The school is on -the 520-
acre Kfar Silver campus,
near Ashkelon, and Ameri-
can students live with their
Israeli peers.
