Rapidly becoming a new Riviera in the Middle East, the Dead Sea's popularity is due to its overpowering land- scape, curative hot springs, historical sites such as Ma- sada and Qumran, and warm winter climate. The waters of the Dead Sea have been proven to have a high concentration of salts and minerals which are beneficial to the treatment of skin diseases, white hot sulphur springs near. the Dead Sea are helpful in the treatment of rheumatism and arthritis. The Dead Sea shore is only a two-hour drive away from Jerusalem at the furthest point, and any visitor to Is- rael can easily take in an excursion to this exciting new resort.
