Remember Amalek, Suburban Facilities,
Not Downtown Halls,
Israelis Warned
Urged for Big Events
Editor, The Jewish News:

We must caution the gen-
tlemen of Jerusalem: Be-
ware! For the love of God,
be on guard for the Arab
tricksters. Do not be naive!
"Zahor et 'asher asah l'kha
Amalek -- Remember what
Amalek did unto thee."
The "umbrella man" from
England came back from
Munich in the '30s after
negotiating with the beast of
Berlin for "peace in our
time." On his dying bed,
Chamberlain remarked, if
that beast only had not lied
to him, all would have been
well.
We hope Henry Kissinger
will not have to avail himself
to declare all would have
been well with the Israelis if
only the Egyptian dictator
would not have lied to him.

Editor, The Jewish News,
Why is it, with the ma-
jority of the Jewish popula-
tion in this area now living
in the suburbs north of De-
troit, and with most of the
beautiful synagogues and
social halls also located
in the suburbs, that much of
the entertainment arranged
by the various social and .re-
ligious groups is presented
at downtown Detroit audi-
toriums?
The millions of dollars
needed to build these beauti-
ful halls was given by the
people in hopes of providing
places of worship, and enter-
tainment close to home, yet
the people and their needs
are over-looked when the ac-
tivities are scheduled in a
location that is now outdated
and not as easily accessible
to most of the people.

`Planning a Trip
to Israel? Go Now'

NNW

ROLAND

Business Briefs

1

Editor, The Jewish News:
On a recent visit to Israel.
intimate contacts were re-
established with relatives
and acquaintances. Their
manner, their faces, ever
their brave conversation mir
rored how close Israel came
to catastrophe.
We owe it to these people
to be present bodily as a
show of unity in their cause.
For those who have planned
a visit to Israel, we would
say: Go as soon as possible.
For those who have not
otherwise planned such a
trip, consider the good that
would come of it and plan
to go. Its benefits of fulfill-
ment are greater than a visit
to any other place in the
world.
