speaker at the meetings, was
named official representa-
tive of the American Chemi-
cal Society.
Since that time his itinerary
has grown to seven speaking
engagements at colleges and
universities in India and Pak-
istan before his plenary ad-
dress at the University of
Calcutta Monday. It is entit-
led: "The Application of the
Pfeifer Effect to the Determ-
ination of the Structure of
Complex Inorganic Com-
pounds."
A specialist in inorganic
chemistry, Dr. Kirschner has
been on the Wayne State fac-
ulty since 1954. He and his
students have isolated 12
chemical complexes found in
animals that have anti-cancer
and anti-viral properties.
