3 Bound Bodies Found on Golan

TEL AVIV (JTA) — The
bodies of three men, all hand-
cuffed, were discovered last
weekend in the Khoushani-

Heights. The bodies were
taken to the Institute of
Forensic Science for exami-

It is probable that the
bodies are of two Jerusale-

Who Says There Isn't Enough Oil?

By PHELPS PHELPS

Phelps, former U.S. ambas-

of the so-called energy crisis

it, urged American Jews to

the defeated Arabs." He also

about the availability of oil

A local official explained
that after they find a well,
they lock it up, and when the
price is right and the oil is
needed, they'll probably open
the wells.

TEL AVIV (JTA)—Israel,
by dint of careful planning
and preparations over the
last decade, has adequate
supplies of oil, but the price
of energy "will be much
more expensive than hither-
to," Deputy Finance Minister
Zvi Dinstein said here.
Dinstein, who is in charge
of the nation's fuel supplies,
spoke at the opening session
of the fourth seminar on oil
sponsored by the Israel Oil
Institute.
The oil supply to Israel is
continuing from v a r io u s

The three left for a tour
of the Golan Heights in a
hired car for Yom Kippur
day.
The car, found in the Khou-
shaniyeh area when the Is-
raelis recaptured that area,
had been hit by hundreds of
bullets. There was no sign
of the occupants.
An Israeli soldier later
testified he saw the three

Nevertheless, Dr. Dinstein
said, Israel will make an all-
out effort to increase oil
prospecting and to find alter-
native energy sources.
He said the satisfactory oil
situation in the country today
was the result of increasing
the size of Israel's tanker
fleet, building a network of
pipelines and the construc-
tion of more refineries and
storage facilities.
He said the new oil re-
fineries at Ashdod, which
went into operation just be-
fore the Yom Kippur War,
stood up well during the
crisis and with the older re-
fineries in Haifa provided the
products essential to the war
effort.

Sen. Hart Retains
Confidence in UN

U. S. Senator Philip A.
Hart believes that this coun-
try's best interests are
served through the United
Nations and the Near East
governments as well as by
"insuring Israel's ability to
respond to armed attacks.
In a letter to Louis and
Harold Berry, he stated:
"On Nov. 5, the Senate Ap-
propriations Committee be-
gan hearings on the request
for $2,200,000,000 in emer-
gency security assistance for
Israel. The committee felt
that more information was re-
quired before it could act,
and additional hearings will
be held.
"I continue to believe that
we should make certain Is-
rael has enough arms to
maintain a strategic balance
of power in hopes of buying
time during which a fair
settlement can be reached.
"How much help will be
required and whether in the
form of loans, credits or
materiel will depend on
studies now going on. But I
continue to be convinced that
the best interests of the
United States are served by
diplomatic efforts through
the United Nations and the
individual governments in the
Near East, plus insuring Is-
rael's ability to respond to
armed attack."

Time is an herb that cures
all diseases.
