Histadrut to Hear Press Officer

Yaakov Morris, press coun-
selor to the Israel Mission
to the United Nations, will
speak at a Histadrut brunch
meeting cosponsored by the
Labor Zionist Alliance 11 a.m.
Sunday at the LabOr Zionist
Institute.
He will review David Ben-
Gurion's service to Israel
and his involvement as a
leader of Histadrut, the fed-
eration of labor in Israel.
Ben-Gurion was the feder-
ation's first general secre-
tary.

Since his immigration to
Palestine in 1947, Morris has
held many posts with the Is-
rael Ministry of Foreign Af-
fairs and the Jewish Agency.
Prior to his assignment to
the United Nations, he rep-
resented Israel in India and
Sweden. He is the author of
several books, including
"Masters of the Desert," for
which David Ben-Gurion
wrote the introduction.

ance's annual Hanuka cele-
bration will include dinner
and entertainment, 6:30 p.m.,
Dec 22 in the Labor Zionist
Institute.

JWV Moves for State Passage
of Group Libel, Slander Law

The Department of Michi-
gan, Jewish War Veterans,
has urged the passage by the
State Legislature of a group
libel and slander law. Com-
mander Joe Bale appointed
attorney Arthur M. Lang, de-
partment judge advocate, as
chairman.
Lang, who offered his legal
services to the legislature to
help draft the legislation,
said the enactment of a
group libel and slander law
is "long overdue, and the
immunity that racists and
bigots have because of an
antiquated law, to malign,
attack, character assassinate
and racial, ethnic, or reli-
gious group . -. should be
