Containing the texts of some 500 songs in trans- literated Yiddish and Eng- lish, this panorama of Jew- ish life is concerned with the youngest offspring of Jewish folk music and one of the richest stores of popular music in modern times. For this second edition, a new final chapter on the universal language of folksong, and a musical appendix containing the scores for 54 songs dis- cussed in the text have been added to the popular book.
