calls . . . He is in Room
3415 of the old section and
she is in Room 3910 at the
new wing . . . Too bad they
can't be even closer instead
of so far apart after all these
years.
BYRON KAHN, 6-year-old
son of Lil and Morris Kahn,
had been promised by Lil to
be ready to take him to a
local kiddieland "in about
five minutes" . . . He waited
around for what seemed an
eternity . . . and then timid-
ly inquired, "Mommy, are
minutes any longer than they
use to be?"
EVEN THOUGH he wasn't
a girl, little Brian Eric gave
Abe and Rosalind Levine a
particular once-in-a-lifetime
thrill that comes of becom-
ing grandparents for the
first time . . . Bruce and
Maureen Levine are the new
parents.
MARVIN GOODSTEIN in
California figures his son
Allan, who is approaching
his teens, must be pretty
sharp for his age . . . He
called in the boy and gave
him the time-honored story
about the birds and the bees
. . . When dad finished,
Allan spoke up. "You know,"
he said, "in a rudimentary
fashion, the process isn't too
dissimilar to human repro-
duction."
PARENT MINI-CONFER-
ENCE at Frost Middle
School in Oak Park proved
one thing . . . The teachers,
too, have a lot to learn. . . .
It was held in the spacious
cafetorium and was a 'jum-
bled mess of disorganized
waste of time . . . Many
parents were rightly annoyed
because they came and, with
no appointments set, waited
to talk to various teachers
but had to leave without see-
ing them all • . . The instruc-
tors, and Frost can boast of
many among the finest, sat
behind little schoolroom
desks at a distinct disadvan-
tage, with all the confusion
going on . . Certainly par-
ents and teachers deserve
the right of privacy in dis-
cussing the progress of chil-
dren . . . It's nobody else's
business but theirs!
CUTIE COMES FROM
builder Jerry Taines in Fort
Lauderdale . . . about the
lady who sent her 4-year-old
son to a progressive summer
camp . . . On visiting day
she found him all agog about
having gone swimming in
the camp pool . .. "But how
did you do that?" she asked,
"I forgot to pack your bath-
ing trunks." . . . "We went
naked!" the tot explained
. . . "Did the little girls go
in naked too?" asked the
mother excitedly ... "No no,
mommy!" the tyke replied.
"They wore bathing caps."
