3,000 Japanese will demon-
strate Sunday in Tokyo to
protest the "anti-Israeli poli-
cy" of the Japanese govern-
ment.
The demonstrators, mem-
bers of the Christian Jap-
anese group, Makuya, will
rally in the center of Tokyo,
according to one of its mem-
bers, Jacob Teshima, who
received a phone call from
Japan informing him about
the planned rally.
Teshima is a graduate stu-

Israel evidently is to be coerced by the United States into accepting
boundaries she cannot defend herself. If Israel returns to the pre-1967 War
border, the whole densely populated area of Israel-10 or 12 miles wide
altogether—will be within range of the Katyushas and other weapons
supplied to the Arabs by the Russians. With the surface to air missiles the
Arabs possess, the unprotectable area of sky will not be just over a strip
of desert near the Suez Canal—as it was in the Yom Kippur War—but
over the whole of Israel.

States could honor a commitment to come to Israel's defense. This would
mean, as in Vietnam, direct involvement of United States troops, only
this time with the danger of confrontation with the Soviet Union. Or the
United States could renege on its commitment when the time came. This

Israel in the pre-1967 War borders there would probably not even be time
for American intervention to be feasible. If the United States offers Israel

But weakening Israel will only lead to catastrophe for the United
States and the West. Even the first stage of an Israeli withdrawal, which

would open the Suez Canal, will give the Soviet Union complete freedom
of maneuver throughout till Middle East, the Indian Ocean, and along
the coasts of eastern and southern Africa. The Soviet Union's progress will
be irressistible, and the whole Middle East will fall into her grasp.
Within a short time it will be the Soviet Union who decides whether
oil shall be sold to the West. Europe—and Japan—completely at the mercy
of the Soviet Union for oil, will be neutralized. Indeed, the Arab oil pro-
ducers have already, on their own, partially achieved this result.
Soviet domination of the world will be well on the way. In 1938 the
sacrifice of Czechoslovakia to Hitler at Munich ( for the sake of "peace
in our time") brought on the Nazi domination of Europe and the horrors
of World War Two.
Selling out Israel today, for the sake of "detente," will leave the
United States tomorrow face to face with a rampant Soviet Union—alone.
