Wife of Israel's UN Envoy
to Address Pioneer Women

Ruth Tekoah, wife of the
Israeli ambassador to the
UN, will be guest speaker at
Pioneer Women's annual
donor luncheon noon Dec. 13
at Adat Shalom Synagogue.
Mrs. Tekoah, born in Ro-
mania, came to Israel as a
young girl and was educated
there. In 1949, she joined the
ministry for foreign affairs,
where she was an assistant

became director of the pub-
lic relations department of
the Women's International
Zionist Organization in Is-
rael.
Five years later, she joined
her husband in New York,
where for two years he held
the post of deputy permanent
representative of Israel to
the UN. Tekoah subsequently
became ambassador to Bra-
zil and to the USSR, the
latter position for three
years. In January 1968, Te-
koah received his appoint-
ment in New York.
