Those of my readers who
are fortunate enough to be
living in southern climes
don't have to go through the
rough winters experienced by
us northerners, but for most
of the nation the coming
months mean rain, snow,
sleet and generally obnoxious
weather. On those cold and
chilly nights, what better to
come home to than a hearty
and satisfying home-cooked
meal. If anything, the winter
season is associated with
nourishing, steaming stew
dishes, and here is one of
my favorites.
2 lbs. chuck meat cut in pieces
5 small carrots, sliced
2 small onions, diced
1 lb. can stewed tomatoes
garlic powder to tatste
noodles (12 ounces)
Brown meat and anion in dutch
oven. Add carrots, tomatoes, gar-
lic r7owder. Bake at 350 degrees
for 2 1/2 hours. Cook noodles ac-
cording to package directions.
Mix meat and noodles. Serve im-
mediately. Serves 5.
