and language under the
auspices of the Cong. Beth
Achim culture commission
will be held 8 p.m. Tuesday
at the synagogue.
Bernard Panush, commis-
sion chairman, said Dr. Her-
bert Paper, Yiddish expert
on the faculty of the Univer-
sity of Michigan, will give a
talk on the language, its
structure and origins.
Edwin I. Shifrin will dis-
cuss the giant of Yiddish
literature, I. L. Peretz. A
graduate of the Workmen's
Circle School, Shifrin has
taught there and served as
,chairman of the board of the
Combined Jewish Schools.
Admission is free, and re-
freshments are served. Rabbi
Milton Arm acts as moder-
ator.
