Offers Adult Education Courses

opening of its new suburban
office at 24361 Greenfield,
Suite 201, Southfield.
Since the opening of its
suburban office three years
ago, the demand for services
has increased the need for
larger quarters and addi-
tional staff.
A new "placement special-
ist" is being assigned to the
suburban office to provide
specialized job placement in-
terviewing and field work to
develop employment oppor-
tunities.

Project "JOIN" — an intern-
ship program for college
youth which will function in
two phases during the winter
months at the University of
Michigan Hillel and during
the summer at various De-
troit Federation communal

Registration for the College
of Jewish Studies, combined
adult education program of
the Metropolitan Detroit
Federation of Reform Syna-
gogues, opens Wednesday
evening at Temple Emanu-
El, beginning at 6:30.
Cantor Arthur Asher, dean
of the College of Jewish
Studies, said 17 adult courses
will be offered, including
classes in beginners and ad-
vanced Hebrew, Yiddish,
Jewish history, Bible, Jewish
education, music of the syna-
gogue, archeology of the
Bible, development of the
Jewish religion, rabbinic re-
sponses to modern Jewish
problems and introduction to
Judaism. Most courses are
offered on 14 Wednesday
evenings. In addition, four
courses are offered on Thurs-
days at 1 p.m.
