Top leaders in the U. S.
Senate are among the co-
chairmen of the National
Bnai Brith Humanitarian
Award dinner which will
honor Leonard Woodcock,
president of the UAW, it was
announced by Irwin I. Cohn,
General Dinner Chairman.
Woodcock will receive the
1973 National Bnai Brith Hu-
manitarian Award, at a $100
per plate dinner, Nov. 28,
at Cobo Hall.
Among those serving as co-
chairmen are: Senators Phil-
ip A. Hart, Robert Griffin,
Abraham Ribicoff , George
McGovern, Edmund S. Mus-
kie, and Hugh Scott.

WASHINGTON (JTA) —
The State Department warm-
ly welcomed Egypt's award
of a $345,400,000 contract for
construction of the proposed
Suez-Mediterranean oil pipe-
line to an American con-
struction and financial con-
sortium.
The Bechtel Corp., a Cali-
fornia _ based construction
company, will build the twin
42-inch pipelines paralleling
the Suez Canal for 210 miles.
Kidder Peabody and Co.,
Inc., a New York investment
bank, and the First National
City Bank of New York will
finance the venture.

is a new air-conditioned hall,
seating 500, which will open
for bingo 6:30 p.m. Sunday.
Nonprofit organizations may
use the hall to raise funds
for charitable causes. Own-
ers Joe Wittenberg and Wal-
ter Weinhart plan fund-
raising affairs each night, but
the hall also will be avail-
able for banquets and meet-
ings. Two nights already are
committed. Akiva Hebrew
Day School will hold events

North Farmington High
School Band Boosters will
sponsor 160 bandsmen during

The goal set by the music
department students is 3,500.
