Herman A. Schmier; Founded
Old Newsboy Goodfellow Fund

Herman A. Schmier, re- was a founder and past
tired Detroit attorney who president of the Old News-
boys Goodfellow Fund, died
Tuesday at age 79.
Mr. Schmier, 31140 Hunt-
ers, Farmington Hills, was
a member of the Detroit
Zoning Board of Appeals
from 1946 to 1967.
He was born in New York,
was graduated in 1918 from
the University of Detroit's
law school and had offices
in the Cadillac Tower here
for many years until his re-
tirement in 1967. Mr. Schmier
was a member of Cong.

Moslem Shrine, Detroit Con-
sistory and Hannah Schloss
Old Timers.
Surviving are a son, Allan;
three brothers, Abe, Walter
