Special grants from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Michigan Coun- cil for the Arts make pos- sible Rodgers' week - long stay in Detroit, performing for area schools Monday through Friday and the gen- eral public on Saturday. Peabody Award - winning puppeteer Martin Stevens will open the Youtheatre puppet season Oct. 13 with performances at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. of his show, "The Toy maker." The original script of "The Toymaker" formed the basis for the 1959 film, "The Blue Fairy," acclaimed as one of the season's top television specials.
