The traditional ceremony of affixing the mezuzot to
the doorposts of Temple Beth El's new Prentis Religious
School Building was performed by Mrs. Meyer L. Prentis,
representing the Prentis family, benefactors of the build-
ing. Present were her children and grandchildren, as well
as the children of the religious school and members of
the congregation. The ceremony also was conducted by
Rabbis Richard C. Hertz and Morton M. Kanter and
Robert N. Canvasser, honorary president of the congrega-
tion. The affixing of the mezuza to the door leading to the
Maas Chapel and Handleman Hall was performed by B. L.
Maas, benefactor of the Maas Chapel, and David Handle-
man, representing the Handleman family, benefactors of
Handleman Hall. Harvey Willens, president of the congrega-
tion, conducted the ceremony with Handleman and both
rabbis.
