Mondale Seeks joint Research Act NEW YORK—Twelve new Hebrew day schools, includ- ing seven at the high school level, have been established with the opening of the school year in various parts of the United States and Canada, according to a joint report by Samuel C. Feuer- stein, president of Torah Umesorah, the National Soci- ety for Hebrew Day Schools, and Dr. Joseph Kaminetsky, national director, to the day school society's board of directors. The first Hebrew day school --report of the new year, which detailed Torah Umesorah's involvement in various communities, called attention of the fact that of the 12 new schools — seven were established outside of New York and only five in the New York City area. The total number of He- brew day schools this year is a record 413, located in 34 states and about 150 commu- nities. Nevada and Alabama were the two new states which joined the day school roster this year. There are an additional 47 schools in five provinces of Canada. Dr. Kaminetsky said that enrollment this year is expected to reach a total of about 91,000.
