Dr. Kahana will discuss "The Problems of the Aged an:I the Poor," with special ref- erence to the Jewish com- munity. A coffee hour will precede her talk. Dr. Kahana, director of the Elderly Care Research Cen- ter and associate professor of sociology at WSU, has done extensive research in the problems of "aging." She has studied problems of the general community as well as those affecting the Jewish community. Before joining the Wayne faculty in fall 1971, Dr. Ka- hana was research associate and assistant professor in the department of sociology and the Medical Care Research Center of Washington Uni- versity, St. Louis. She worked closely with the Jewish com- munity there on the needs and services for the aged.
