According to Mrs. Kraft, early members had only the little "pushka" — Blue and White Boxes—to raise funds, but from the year 1929 on they began their donor events and other social means of fund-raising. Mrs. Kraft was president (for the first time) in the early 1950s when the women participated in a project to finance the draining of the Huleh swamps in the Galilee. The Huleh project, under- taken despite extensive loss of life, both from Syrian guns and malaria, resulted in the clearing of the rich- est land in the country. Other projects in ensuing years were the planting of trees and development of land for Gadot and Gonen kibutzim. Mrs. Kraft also cited the Pillars of Courage at Gadot —pillars hewn from field- stone and already inscribed with 200 names, each repre- senting the gift of a mini- mum of 300 dollars to re- claim two dunams (', 1s acre) for cultivation and settle- ment By PORTRAITS COLOR OR BLACK AND WHITE FRAMES LARGE SELECTION, EASEL & WALL ALBUMS SMALL OR LARGE DOWNTOWN FARMINGTON CENTER 23352 FARMINGTON ROAD At Grand River 3 Doors from Detroit Edison SAM FIELD Call 399-1320 R 0 S E N - MICKELSON: Charlotte Mickelson became the bride of Albert Rosen Sunday in a ceremony at the home of Rabbi Leizer Levin.
