BUENOS AIRES (JTA) —
A resolution urging the Pol-
ish government to declare
Jewish cemeteries in Poland
as national monuments was
adopted at a joint meeting
here of the Central Union of
Polish Jews in Argentina and
the Argentine Association of
Survivors of Nazism.
Marc Turkow, honorary
president of the central union
and general secretary of the
Latin American Jewish Con-
gress, said there is danger
that the cemeteries will
completely disappear. The
resolution was sent to the

TEL AVIV (JTA)—A mon-
umental publication, "The
Jewish Press That Is No
More," which provides the
history of some 1,000 Jewish
publications, dailies, week-
lies and periodicals in Eu-
rope that vanished through
the Holocaust, has been pub-
lished here by the World
Federation of Jewish Jour-
nalists.
The 540-page book includes
a first-hand story of the Jew-
ish publications written by
e d it o r s, correspondents,
writers and community lead-
ers who participated in these
newspapers or periodicals.
The volume, in Yiddish,
also has some 300 photo-
graphs of Jewish writers,
editors and journalists and
various newspapers of pre-
Hitler Europe.
The publication, to be fol-
lowed by a Hebrew and Eng-
lish translation, is regarded
as a first-class research
source on the Jewish press
of Europe.
The Jewish Agency and
the Memorial Fund were
helpful in publishing this
book. Yehuda Gothelf edited
the book with the aid of
David Flinker, Mordechai
Zanin and Shalom Rosenfeld
and Moshe Ron, general sec-
retary of the World Federa-
tion of Jewish Journalists.

OSLO (JTA) — An 18-year-
old Israeli pacifist has asked
for political asylum in Nor-
way, official circles an-
nounced here.
The youth, Yuval Ronen,
arrived here on a tourist
visa from Sweden. He faces
a two-year jail sentence in
Israel for refusing to serve
in the armed forces. Israeli
law does not allow for con-
scientious objection.
Ronen's application has
been turned over to the min-
istry of justice which must
decide on the issue.
Officials here doubt that
his request will be granted
as Norway does not want to
further deepen its rift with
Israel caused by the arrest
of two Israelis believed to be
involved in the murder last
month of a Moroccan citizen,
Ahmed Boushicki.
Talking
with
reporters
here, Ronen accused the Is-
raeli government of "waging
an imperialist war" in the
Middle East.

VIANNA (JTA) — Hafez
Ismail, Present Anwar Sa-
dat's adviser on national
security affairs, was received
by Yugoslavia's Vice Presi-
dent Mitja Ribicic in Bel-
grade, diplomatic sources
said.
Ismail arrived in Belgrade
Aug. 9 for talks on the
Middle East crisis, the
sources said. He was wel-
comed at the Belgrade Air-
port by Yugoslavia officials.
The Romanian News
Agency, Agerpres reported
Ismail met twice with Ro-
manian President Nicolae
Ceausescu to discuss the
Middle East problem.
