`Seventh Suicide Command' Seen as Cover for Terrorist Groups

JERUSALEM (JTA) —
Political observers here be-
lieve that the "Seventh Sui-
cide Command," reportedly
claiming responsibility for
the Athens Airport attack
Aug. 5, is a fictitious cover
for the regular Arab terrorist
organizations.
The observers noted that
the official Arab organiza-
tions claimed they were not
involved in the last three
major incidents involving
Arab terrorism—the murder
of Yosef Alon in Washington,

the Japan Air Line hijack
and the attack in Athens.
The observers interpreted
this new information as a
clear indication that after
the Israeli April 10 raid on
Beirut, the terrorists are
more careful about claiming
any involvement with inci-
dents of international ter-
rorism.
The terrorists also are
aware of the decline in sym-
pathy toward the Palestine
cause with any such incident.
Israeli observers insisted

Summer Torah Tours Visit Small Cities

NEW YORK — The Insti-
tute for Jewish Life, a divi-
sion of the Council of Jewish
Federations and W e l f are
Funds, Inc. has provided
funds to the National Confer-
ence of Synagogue Youth
(Orthodox) to continue and
to expand its program of
"Summer Torah Tours."
During July and August
two teams of two committed
Jewish young adults have
been visiting nearly two
dozen Jewish communities in
the Midwest and the East. In
diverse American and
Canadian communities such
as Calgary and Omaha, Jew-
ish youth of age 13-18 are
being exposed to short pro-
grams of shared prayer,
study, discussion, recreation
and social activities.
Through the reinforcement
of the awareness and practice
of Jewish life and ideals, the
program attempts to strength-
en and intensify Jewish identi-
fication and commitment.

Though sponsorship of the
program is through local
chapters of the Orthodox
movement's National Confer-
ence of Synagogue Youth,
nonaffiliated teen-agers are
also encouraged to attend
and participate.
Next week, 125 of the young
people who have been a part
of the Torah Tour activities
will gather at Camp Brisson
in Maryland for a week of in-
tense Jewish life through
prayer, study, discussion,
recreation and social activi-
ties.

Half the world seems to
enjoy talking about the ex-
travagant way the other half
lives.
