Cement Deal With USSR Barred as Impolitic'
JERUSALEM (JTA) — In-
formed sources here reported
Wednesday that the Israel
government, reversing an
earlier decision, has barred
fims from importing
f.ement from the Soviet
Union.
The sources said that toy-
level consultations took place
this week at which it was
decided, contrary to the pre-
vious position to allow such
imports informally, that such
trade with Russia would be
impolitic at this time.

emigration of Soviet Jews
would be unwise and might
hamper the aliya campaign.
