JERUSALEM—The Church
of the Holy Sepulchre, the
basilica revered as the site
of the crucifixion of Jesus,
is being restored under the
direction of three interna-
tional architects. _
The architects began the
work in 1959 on behalf of the
three churches under whose
auspices the church is main-
tained—the Greek Orthodox,
the Armenian and the Ro-
man Catholic.
About 85 per cent of the
Al's
Proceeds in Israel
church has been restored.
Many of the Byzantine and
Crusader features are be-
coming visible to the thou-
sands who visit the church
daily.
