Robinson, wife of the late actor, will be the guest of the women's di- vision of the State of Israel Bonds at a sponsor luncheon at the home of Mrs. Henry Dorfman Aug. 1. A native New Yorker, Mrs. Robinson is a former fashion designer and consultant and MRS. ROBINSON was associated for many years with the fashion in- dustry in New York. She was educated at the Model Elementary School of Hunter College, the Fields- ton School of Ethical Culture and the Pratt Institute, where she studied art and design, before entering a career in fashion. Married in 1958 to Mr. Robinson, she shared his concern and close identifica- tion with the people of Israel and played a leading role in the Beverly Hills Israel Bond campaign. Mrs. Robinson has visited Israel on several occasions with her husband and has met with many of Israel's leading government officials. She visited Israel again in April in memory of Mr. Robinson, who died in Janu- ary. Her marriage to Mr. Rob- inson also gave her the op- portunity to become more deeply involved in the world of art. As a special tribute to him, she wrote a book en- titled "Edward G. Robin- son's World of Art," which was published two years ago by Harper and Row. She appeared on national television in April at the Oscar Awards, when she accepted the posthumous award to Mr. Robinson for his career of dramatic achievements. Play Competition The Association of Jewish Center Workers is sponsor- ing a national contest in which a $1,000 prize will be offered for the best full- length play dealing with a Jewish theme. The prize-winning entry will be produced and per- formed on a nation-wide scale during the 1974-75 season by those Jewish centers with performing arts facilities. Scripts are being solicited in the Detroit area by Mrs. Edith Rudner, association member and cultural arts di- rector for the Jewish Cen- ter.
