The topic of the sermon will be "The Beautiful Jew Who Gave Life to My Hands." Rabbi Goldhamer, ordain- ed at the Cincinnati school of the Hebrew Union College last year, served a Chicago congregation of the deaf as a student rabbi. After or- dination, he was asked to continue in this work since he had effectively learned sign language and managed to convey poetic selections with hand movements, giving a visual translation of the lyric words. Although many other rab- binic opportunities were open to him, Rabbi Goldhamer chose to do this work. He currently has a television news program for the deaf in the Chicago area.
