A total of 44 Michigan Re-
gion BBYOers will attend
the District Six BBYO con-
vention at Schwartz's Resort,
Elkhart Lake, Wis. June 21-
25. The convention will draw
BBYO members from seven
Regions covering eight Mid-
western states and four
Canadian provinces. The
convention theme is "Pro-
graming, Leadership and
Competition.” Leading the
Michigan delegation will be
the newly elected presidents
of the Great Lakes AZA and
BBG councils, Barry Hur-
witz of Herzl AZA, Windsor,
and Debbie Manela of Brice
BBG, Southfield.

Ten children of veterans
were granted a total of
$3,000 in college scholarship
funds by the Department of
Michigan Jewish War Vet-
erans and its ladies auxil-
iary at their recent annual
convention.
According to scholarship
chairmen Mrs. Sam Skupsky
and Saul Glosser, this was
the largest dollar amount in
scholarship awards ever
made by JWV in the 16 years
of the program.
Two of the $300 grants
were made by the state or-
ganization from the proceeds
of the recent poppy sale.
The others were individual
awards from Michigan's 13
posts and auxiliaries.

MIAMI (JTA) — The Uni-
versity of Miami has an-
nounced plans to inaugurate
an undergraduate interdisci-
plinary program in Judaic
studies, offered as a parallel
or double major, starting next
fall. Henry Stanford, univers-
