Counter Slate Proposed
for UHS Annual Meeting

Parents of United Hebrew
- School pupils are being en-

uHS Tuesday evening to lend
their support to a slate pro-
posed by a parent advisory
group.
In a letter sent to paid-up
members of the United He-
brew Schools, the Hebrew
School Parent; Advisory
Committee urged attendance
at the 8 p.m. meeting, to be
held at the LaMed Auditor-

the presidency. Besides other

committee and were nomi-
nated by petition.

-Robert A. Cohn, editor-in-
chief of the St. Louis Jewish
Light, was elected to his
second term as president of
the American Jewish Associa-
tion at the organization's
30th annual meeting here.
The association is made
up of 44 weekly, bi-weekly
and monthly Jewish news-
papers in the United States
and Canada. Eighteen mem-
bers and their wives attended
the two-day convention.
The association adopted a
resolution applauding the
Washington Post and the
New York times for winning
victories for freedom of the
-ess in their coverage of
; Watergate affair.
The Cincinnati American
Israelite and the Oakland
(Calif.) Jewish Community
News were admitted to mem-
bership.
In addition to Cohn, the
association elected Albert
Bloom, Pittsburgh, Conrad
Isenberg, Worcester, Mass.,
and Anne Hammerman, Day-
ton, vice presidents; Morton
Shlossman, Wilmington, Del.,
treasurer; Geoffrey Fisher,
San Francisco, correspond-
ing secretary, and Jerry
Barach, Cleveland, recording
secretary. Three honorary
vice presidents were elected:
Jacques Back, Nashville,
Joseph J. Cummins, Los
Angeles, and Adolph Rosen-
berg, Atlanta.
