perform Liszt's Concerto No.
1 in E Flat as soloist with the
Detroit Symphony Orchestra
8 p.m. Thursday at the State
Fair Grounds. There is no
charge.
Syme, who is a student of
Jorge Bolet and formerly
studied locally with Mischa
Kottler and Julius Chajes,
will have his New York debut
in February at Lincoln Cen-
ter.
The son of Rabbi and Mrs.
M. Robert Syme, the pianist
has received critical praise
in a number of newspapers
across the country.
