Museum is displaying the life
style of one of the most color-

Colorful gilt dresses, some
of them showing traditions
500 to 2,000 years old, are
displayed, together with a
large variety of carpets,
clothes, jewels, and other
everyday items characteristic
of 1\loroccan Jewry.
Three of the largest halls
in the museum are devoted I
to the exhibition. In one of
them there is an accurate
reproduction of the Moroccan
ghetto, the mella, which was
rebuilt complete with work-

It took four years to gather
the material and study the
subject of this exhibition. It
was done by the ethno-
graphic department of the
museum, with the help of the
friends of the museum and
especially Baroness Alix de
Rothschild.
Items were loaned by mu-

items were loaned by Moroc-

added to the large collection
which exists in the museum

on 50th Anniversary

AIM HIGH!

NEW YORK—The thanks
and "very best wishes of Is-
rael's people" for his "in-
valuable contributions to our
land's science, art and cul-
ture" were conveyed to
Meyer W. Weisgal Sunday
by Israel President Ephraim
Katzir.
The occasion was the 50th
wedding anniversary of
Meyer and Shirley Weisgal,
which was celebrated Sunday
day at a garden party given
by his children, Mendy,
Helen and David, at Men-
derly, his elder son's home in
Roxbury, Conn.
Now chancellor of the Weiz-
mann Institute of Science at
Rehovot, Weisgal was its
principal architect and chief
executive officer for 25 years
from its founding until the
end of 1969, when he retired.
From 1966 to 1969, he served
as the institute's president.
An embossed scroll signed
by 150 members of the Weiz-
• ann Institute arrived in
time to be presented at the
party.
A flowering tree, the gift
of the staff of the American
Committee for the Weizmann
Institute, will be planted in
front of the Weisgal home in
Rehovot upon their return to
Israel next
