NY Educator Wins Aaron Zacks Award

NEW YORK—Rabbi David
Eliach, principal of the Joel
Braverman High School of
the Yeshiva of Flatbush, is
the winner of the 1973 Aaron
Zacks Memorial Award, it
was announced by Robert H.
Arnow, president of the
American Association for
Jewish Education.
The award, established in
honor of the late Aaron
Zacks, Columbus industrial-
ist and philanthropist, con-
sists of a cash prize of $1,500
for "original, creative, and
effective contributions by a
Jewish educator in the for-
mal setting of a Jewish ele-
mentary or high school." An
additional $1.500, provided by
the Zacks Family Founda-
tion. finances the annual pub-
lication of innovative curric-
ulum materials in Jewish
education. as part of the
award program.
