Gadna Activities
Gadna cadet activities have
been included in this year's
curriculum at six Arab high
schools in the north of Is-
rael. The schools are in
Nazareth, Tarshiha, Rama,
Yerka and Kafr Kana. Wea-
pons training, given in Jew-
ish schools, is not part of the
lessons, but judo, scouting,
sports and first aid are.
Simon Wiesenthal of Vienna,
whose search has brought to
justice more than 1,000 Nazi
war criminals including
Adolf Eich mann, will be
awarded an honorary degree
by Hebrew Union College-
Jewish Institute of Religion

Cancer Specialist
JERUSALEM—"The world
is on the verge of seeing a
major development in the
control of cancer, by 'means
of immunology," said Dr. G.
J. V. Nossal, professor of
'medical biology at the Uni-
versity of Melbourne, who re-
ceived the 1973 Rabbi Shai
Shacknai Memorial Prize in
immunology and cancer re-
search at the Hebrew Uni-
versity.
He delivered this year's
Shacknai Memorial Lectures
at the Hebrew University-
Hadassah Medical School on
the subject of lymphocyte
activation as the possible key
factor in cancer control.
Prof. Nossal, a leader in
the development of modern
immunology and a close asso-
ciate of Sir Frank Macfarlane
Burnet who won the Nobel
Prize for Medicine in 1960,
was honored at a dinner at
the university's Belgium
House Faculty Club.
