TEL AVIV — The central

ans' Association in Israel will
plant a forest in honor of the
Jewish volunteers in the Pal-
estine units which served in
the ranks of the British Army
during the Second World
War, and established contact
with the survivors of the
Holocaust.
Later they formed the core
of the Jewish defense forces
during the War of Inde-
pendence.
The site of the new forest
will be on the slopes of the
Ayalon Valley not far from
the place where thousands of
Jewish volunteers did their
service with the British
armed forces, the Jewish Na-
tional Fund announced.
The forest will number
35,000 trees — one tree for
each of the Jewish volun-
teers.
The contributions for
