Flint Community Council Sends Aid to Devastated Wilkes-Barre When the Jewish Commu- nity Council of Flint heard the urgent call from Wilkes- Barre, Pa. after its devas- tating storm last year, it answered with an extra measure. It is making possible the restoration and the con- tinuity of the Jewish com- munity, its synagogues and its communal institutions and services. The storm had uprooted 1,300 of 1,600 Jewish families from thir homes that were badly damaged or destroyed, and most of the 800 to 900 Jewish businesses in the city. The Jewish federations of America quickly responded with large sums and a financing plan to guide it, over a two-year program of rehabilitation. Hy Bergman, executive di- rector of the Flint Jewish Jewish Community Council, stated that the "Flint Jewish community should be proud of itself to have given more money than was asked of them to help the emergency and should be pleased that such progress is being made." •SALES SERVICE PRICE order your '73 NOW YOU GET MORE WHEN YOU DEAL WITH HARRY ABRAM 12330 Jos.
