Lehman, widow of the late Governor and Senator, was honored " f o r distinguished service to the community and to Israel" by the national women's division of the American Jewish Congress at a luncheon in the Plaza Ho- tel, May 10. More than 400 persons at- tended the organization's 11th annual Louise Waterman Wise Awards luncheon, at which leather-bound scrolls were also presented to Dr. June Jackson Christmas, Commissioner of the New York Department of Mental Health and Mental Retarda- tion Services; Julie Harris, actress, and Judge Justine Wise Polier, who recently re- tired after 38 years on the bench of the N e w York Family Court. Former Consumer Affairs Commissioner Bess Myerson made the presentation to Mrs. Lehman. The award to Judge Polier, a former president of the American Jewish Congress women's group, was pre- sented by Mrs. Leona Chanin, who heads the women's di- vision executive committee.
