Presentations of the Uni-
versity Musical Society of
the University of Michigan.
The Tel Aviv String Quar-
tet, with Yona Ettlinger, clar-
inetist, will perform Nov.
14 for the Chamber Arts Ser-
ies in Rackham Auditorium;
and the Claude Kipnis Mime
Theater will perform Oct.
27 for the Choice Series in
Power Center.
Also scheduled are violin-
ist Yehudi Menuhin and pia-
nist Hephzibah Menuhin, to
play March 13 for the Chor-

that they will issue entry
visas to an Israeli theatrical
delegation to attend the con-
gress of the International
Theater Institute to be held
in Moscow later this month.
The Russians had previous-
ly denied visas to the dele-
gation of artists, directors
and stage designers. They
said they would grant only
one visa to an Israeli -
Yeshayahu Weinberg, direc-
tor of Tel Aviv's Chamber
Theater who is a member of
the ITI executive.
News of the reversal was
relayed here from Paris
headquarters of ITI. It was
learned that a number of
countries had protested to
Moscow over the exclusion
of the Israelis and threatened
to boycott the congress or
demand its transfer to anoth-
er site.

Over $1,000 in awards, in-
cluding a nine-day trip to
Europe, in a competition to
foster recognition of creative
photographic art, sponsored
by the Impresario Cultural
Society, is announced in the
May-June issue of Impresar-
io, magazine of the arts and
leisure.
The competition categor-
ies include: Greenfield Vil-
lage and Henry Ford Mu-
seum (entry deadline July
15), Detroit downtown and
ethnic festivals (deadline
Sept. 15), Michigan and Ohio
countryside (Nov 15), local
celebrations and fairs (Jan.
15), open photographer's
choice, (March 15) and Kids
and Pets (May 15, 1974).
