honor of the year by the
Jewish National Fund Coun-
cil of Detroit. The annual
JNF dinner to be held
June 20 at Cong. Shaarey
Zedek, will be the event
at which the Hauser Forest
in Israel will be formally
dedicated here prior to the
planting in Israel which is
to be attended by the Hauser
family.

time efforts of the Hausers,
and the high record of serv-
ices to Israel by their fam-
ilies, made the selection a
matter of pride for the old-
est movement for Israel's
land redemption.
Diane Hauser, who was
born in Detroit, Sept. 13, 1917,
was reared in a home that
was steeped in Zionist en-
deavors. Her parents, the
late Israel and Fannie David-
son, were pioneer Zionists,
and were among the leading,
members of the Shaarey Ze-
dek congregational family.
Mrs. Hauser was educated
in the Detroit public schools,
the University of Illinois and
the University of Michigan.
A former campaign chair-
man of the women's divi-
sion of the Allied Jewish
Campaign, she is a past pres-
ident of the women's division
of the Jewish Welfare Fed-
eration and a past president
