Beth Israel and Temple Beth
El, announced that the joint
elective program continues
to be enjoyed by the stu-
dents.
The curriculum ranges
from cuisine, music, art and
drama to study of sociology,
law and biblical interpreta-
tions. A popular course is the
"Israel Pilgrimage Prep
Course," whose students are
preparing for a trip to Israel
this summer.
Plans are to introduce the
elective program to seventh
graders as they will be par-
ticipating next fall.
Pinhas Fellus and the
teaching staff hope to draw
on the talents of the two
adult congregations. A thor-
ough curriculum need not be
worked out; anyone with an
idea and a desire to pursue
it would receive ample as-
sistance in preparing a
course, said Fellus.
The next meeting of the
joint board of education will
take place noon May 3 at
Temple Beth El.
