Irving Greenberg to Be Next Midrasha Lecturer . . Dr. Irving Greenberg will explore "The Conflict of Modernity and Traditional- ism" at the next session of the Midrasha Institute 8:15 ,p.m. Wednesday at the La- Med Auditorium of the Unit- ed Hebrew Schools. Dr. Greenberg, chairman of the department of Jew- ish studies at City College, City University of New York, will address himself to the DR. IRVING GREENBERG challenge of science, ration- ality and pluralism and how the Jew copes with modern society. Dr. Greenberg, who served as rabbi of the Riverdale Jewish Center for seven years, taught history at Ye- shiva University, was • Ful- bright visiting professor in history at Tel Aviv Univer• sity and lecturer in Near Eastern Jtidiac studies at Brandeis University. A graduate of Harvard, Dr. Greenberg chairs the Center for Russian Jewry advisory board and is on the boards of the Religious Education Association and Institute for Jewish Life. The lecture is one of three in the Mina and Theodore Bargman Memorial Lectures and is based on the theme "The World of the 1970s: a Jewish Perspective." The program, the first offered in Washington, will begin next September. The institute is a nonprofit corporation of Washington area businessmen and com- munity leaders.
