A champagne preview
April 28 will herald Cong.
Shaarey Zedek's eighth an-
nual art show and sale,
which will be open to the
public, 1-11 p.m. April 29 and
30. It is sponsored by the
fine arts division of Shaarey
Zedek's cultural commission.
Highlights will be the first
Detroit • area showing of the
works of living Soviet Jewish
artists and an exhibit of Is-
raeli arts and crafts. The
Soviet-Jewish artist display
(not for sale) will be from
the collection of Prof. Her-
bert Marshall, English trans-
lator of Soviet literature.
The Israeli arts and crafts
display and sale, celebrating
Isael's 25th anniversary, will
include about 150 pieces,
from glassware and pottery
to Persian miniatures and
gold and silver jewelry.
There also will be a large
selection of graphics, litho-
graphs, oils, water colors,
copper wall hangings and
ceramic wall hangings.
