Golda Reveals Fear
of 'Living Too Long'

NEW YORK — "My only
fear is living too long," said
Israel Premier Gold Meir in
an interview appearing in the
April issue of Ms. Magazine.
""Listen: I feel insulted
when I see the collapse of a
fine brain. I don't want to
undergo that insult. I want
to die clearheaded," she
said.
In her discussion of death,
violent and natural, Mrs.
Meir said; "There is no dif-
ference between one's killing
and making decisions that
will send others to kill. It's
exactly the same thing, or
even worse."
She spoke of natural death:
"I've known people who died
too soon, and it was painful.
"I've known people who died
too late, and it was equally
painful."

Discussion: a method of
confirming others in their er-
rors.—Ambrose Bierce.
